• LC Online programs offer a highly supportive experience for college-capable students with some evidence of LD and who are interested in learning in a fully online environment.
• Like our residential program, LC Online programs are engineered for and enroll ONLY bright students with LD—and provide more support for student success and development than other institutions/programs.
• Our online students are connected to campus life through LC’s living-learning community model.

• College START is an experience for college-capable students who can access and understand college level texts and concepts. Students with learning differences who are interested in a fully online first-year college experience are an ideal fit for College START.
• Eligible students should have completed high school and earned a high school diploma or GED. This is a program that is designed for students new to college or with only a few college credits.
• The College START curriculum mirrors the first year of Landmark College’s online associate degree programs. Students can seamlessly continue to pursue an LC degree, if desired.

• Cost of enrollment in College START and LC Online associate degree programs is $23,745 per semester.
• Beginning with Fall 2022, Dual Enrollment courses will cost $1,250 per 3 credit course.

• For all College START and online associate degree program students, the College recommends purchasing a Lenovo Yoga computer package, which is fully supported by our Lenovo (IBM) Certified Staff.
• Other equipment options require completing the “Exemptions” section of the acknowledgement form.
• Students in the 5 Day Online Boot Camp or online Dual Enrollment courses are responsible for their own equipment.

• College START and online associate degree programs:

  • For students needing more support with the social transition to college, LC offers PEERS^®, an evidence-based social skills intervention program for motivated students who are interested in learning skills to make and keep friends, as well as develop relationships. Learn more about PEERS^®.
  • Online events and activities such as weekly fitness and recreation challenges, game nights, craft nights, and movie watch parties.
• Dual Enrollment Courses:
  • Free “Online Student Readiness Training” with all credit courses.
  • Dedicated course coach. (Note: the coach may be provided by partner school.) 
  • Access to Landmark College Library databases and other resources. 

• Students participating in College START will be considered matriculated Landmark College students earning credits toward an undeclared degree. One doesn’t matriculate into a degree, but instead declares a major. The students will have the opportunity to declare a major if they choose to stay at Landmark College. College START’s first-year curriculum is designed to fulfill general education requirements for all of our degrees.
• The curriculum is a mix of required and elective courses standard for the first year of college and that help students achieve their foundation requirements universal to any degree path while learning the habits, skills, and concepts important for liberal arts learning.

• Landmark College is fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. Transferring credits to another institution requires a transcript review. The courses offered in the first-year curriculum are standard general education courses and are easily transferable. 

• Classes consist of two one-hour sessions each week per 3-credit class. The classes are scheduled between noon and 5:30 p.m. ET. Additionally, students will be expected to watch or read instructional materials on their own and complete work assignments independently through the Canvas platform.
• Students enrolling in College START or an online associate degree program should consider the time commitment to be equal to that of a full-time student in a face-to-face environment. The difference is that because there are fewer hard-scheduled commitments, there is more flexibility within the week to complete coursework.
• Dual Enrollment students should expect to dedicate 2-3 hours per week for each course credit hour (e.g., plan to study at least 9 hours a week for a 3-credit course). This is accomplished through various engaging synchronous and asynchronous avenues, including discussion forums, graded assignments, interactive activities, assigned readings, group projects, watching videos and more.
• Participants in the 5 Day Online Boot Camp should expect to spend a total of 4-5 hours each day taking part in synchronous sessions and doing asynchronous work.

• The purpose of the program is to help students make a transition to an on-campus college experience. Students are welcome to visit campus and participate in face-to-face activities.
• Online students can also choose from a variety of online activities and events each semester that allow for social time with their classmates.
• Students enrolled in College START or an online associate degree program will have the option to shift to an on-campus experience at the end of each semester, as well during the January and Summer intersessions.
• Appointments at the Drake Center for Academic Support are available to all students, either in-person or online. Students will use an online sign-up system available through the school’s intranet to check staff schedules and choose the time of their appointments. (The student’s advisor can assist them with this process.)
